Lead & perform engineering design, development, and validation for NTI, NPI, NSI cost reduction and quality improvement to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability. JOB DUTIES: - Creates robust 3D models and detailed drawings, Creo as preferred. - Designs sheet metal and casting parts using standard modeling practices. - Applies drawing standards, basic GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and configuration control correctly. - Leads/performs engine cooling component engineering design activities to meet product engineering targets and customer requirements. - Conducts DFMEA and DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report) and executes DVP on time per the project plan. - Leads design review meetings. - Leads the APQP process and follows through for component design and development. - Creates new designs and resolves issues related to manufacturing or build sequences; ensures design acceptance and manufacturing readiness. - Supports the adoption of new manufacturing technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer-aided manufacturing software, etc.) to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance quality. - Plans and improves engineering procedures and operations to make products and processes more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective. - Leads engineering solutions to fix quality issues. - Support engineering solutions for component cost reduction and re-sourcing - Support supplier strategy to assure supplier technology and quality readiness - Partners with cross-functional teams and customers (SDE, Buyer, Application Engineer, Product Team, Sales & Marketing, etc.) to answer engineering questions and provide design solutions aligned to customer and dealer network requirements.
