Adherence to all applicable HSE and other corporate policies, procedures and guidelines. Assist in presenting all safety training classes, seeds of safety observations, and forklift observations. Ensure all equipment is properly calibrated and routinely inspected. Supervise employees and third-party personnel as required. Perform other duties as required to meet SSV treating & packaging department needs. Work in dedicated small seed vegetable (SSV) treating & packaging area Provide leadership and overall seed quality expertise to SSV plant activities Responsible for maintaining, documenting, and adherence to established plant operating procedures. All seed picked and transported to specified area is identified accurately and checked against production order. Fill all orders per production order instructions. Ensure all equipment clean-downs and changeovers are done correctly to eliminate any product contamination or seed mixture. Assist with quality samples, officially drawn samples, and quality data collection. Execute sampling procedures per established procedures. Responsible for product quality assessments and adherence to product specifications. Development and execution of processing plans required to meet key business strategies and product availability requirements. Proactive communication both interdepartmentally and cross functionally to assure that processing efforts are performed in a manner consistent with accommodating business demands and requirements. A proactive response when seed is not meeting approved Product Specifications standards. Rigorous Plant and Equipment R & M scheduling Diligent continuous improvement processing efforts with accompanying employee motivations. Uses ability as a skilled specialist to contribute in development of concepts and techniques and to complete tasks in creative and effective ways. Development and execution of processing work instruction, task cards, JSA's, ECP's, in accordance with our document management procedures High School Diploma or GED required AA or Bachelor's highly preferred Knowledge of office functions and processes, including MS Office (Excel, Word). Must be able to be forklift certified Ability to operate state of the art conditioning, chemical and packaging equipment Ability to receive AASCO seed sampler certification Able to wear pesticide PPE; able to lift 50 lbs.; bending and stooping; frequent standing and walking including climbing stairs and ladders Ability to work in cold, hot, and dusty conditions; work with seed treatments; shift work and weekends
