This involves carrying out appropriate initiatives, providing guidance and support to partners, managers and all employees alike, as well as supporting the creation of an environment which enables people to make the best use of their capabilities and realise their potential to the benefit of the firm and themselves. This means that we are involved in a wide range of activities including: Strategy setting in line with business objectives Recruitment of all partners and employees, including graduate trainee recruitment Diversity and corporate social responsibility initiatives Talent and career management Reward strategy and salary review Policy and procedures setting The Asia HR team comprises of the Regional Head of HR Asia, HR Managers in Hong Kong and Singapore, a HR Advisor Asia and HR Assistant both based in Hong Kong and this role based in Singapore. The Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance is part of the Stephenson Harwood network and offers clients an integrated service in multi-jurisdictional matters involving permitted areas of Singapore law. We have over 100 people in the Singapore office, including more than 14partners with the right expertise to meet our clients' needs to overcome the most complex issues. Main responsibilities As a key member of the team, this role will support the HR function in the provision of a consistent high level, seamless service to our internal clients. Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Assistant will be involved in operational (recruitment, employee cycle, benefits administration) and project work, as well as assisting with queries from international offices. The role is working closely with their peers in our global offices. The HR Assistant role is varied and acts as the first point of contact for general HR queries and support across the whole employee lifecycle. Main responsibilities include: Resourcing and employee life cycle: Supporting the full recruitment process including discussing terms and rates with agencies, job advertising, CV screening, conduct interviews for business services, extending offers with contracts of employment, onboarding logistics and induction programmes. Responsible for the administration of the employee life cycle, including visa administration, flexible working, maternity / paternity leave, client secondment, trainee secondments. Coordinate the annual appraisal and salary review processes. Handle the practising certificate and certificate of registration applications and renewals. Handle off boarding process including exit interviews Performancemanagement and development Assist in managing new employees' probationary period through facilitating mid and end of probation meetings, absence management and escalate concerns and issues when appropriate Support disciplinary and grievance procedures and be the first point of contact Work closely in liaison with the Talent Development team to follow up on training needs Payroll and benefits All aspects of payroll including liaison with all government statutory boards Salary review administration and conduct benchmarking exercises Manage employee medical cover scheme and genera
