About the role

Are you looking to run your own block and strengthen your animal management skills, join Puketotara farm, and develop and grow your skillset as a Beef Finishing Specialist supported by the Farm Manager. You'll learn and develop your pasture and animal management skills within a supportive team, you will chase live weight production and proactively manage animal health, pastures and farm maintenance. This role gives you the opportunity to get comfortable with Pāmu systems and processes, as well as farming software such as excel, Gallagher animal performance software, FarmIQ, and Farmax. THE FARM Puketōtara is an intensive bull beef property, managing stock in cell systems from 100kg calves through to finished two-year-old bulls. Located just 20 minutes from Kerikeri, the farm offers a great lifestyle with the school bus stopping at the gate for Kerikeri schools, and beaches and other outdoor activities right on your doorstep. ABOUT YOU You bring practical farming experience, a positive attitude, and an interest in learning more about intensive beef finishing systems. You enjoy working as part of a team, are open to learning, and are motivated to keep building your skills in a supportive environment. This role could suit someone with beef or drystock experience, or someone from a dairy background who is keen to move into drystock farming. Many of the skills are transferable, and we're happy to support the right person with training and development, whether you're experienced or ready to take the next step.
