Job Responsibilities The Houseperson is responsible for maintaining guestrooms, back of the house working areas and hotel premises in an attractive, clean and orderly manner. Essential Duties Upholds and complies with 5-star standards at all times. Cleans and maintains guest rooms and public spaces. Vacuums and sweeps carpets and mop floors. Cleans offices, staircases, locker rooms and outlets. Provides assistance and support to room attendants and floor managers. Cleans carpets and upholstered furniture. Performs general cleaning of areas by washing walls, ceilings, moving and arranging furniture, cleaning windows glass tops, dusting polishing different surfaces, flipping mattresses etc. Strips rooms upon request. Receives deliveries and stocks supplies in closets and storage areas. Organizes storage areas. Moves banquet furniture and arranges meeting spaces as needed. Operates housekeeping equipment such as: Shampoo machines, pressure washers, wet vacuums, snow blower, etc. Removes trash to the garbage room and loading area. Sorts, collects and redelivers linen to the floors. Performs guest supply, cleaning supply, and linen inventory. Delivers and retrieves items to guest rooms and other departments of the hotel. Maintains flowers of the property as needed. Greet guests by name, provide direction and ensure guest satisfaction at all times. Performs other tasks as assigned. Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least sixty (60) pounds, and prolonged sitting during the shift. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other Team Members or guests. Fluency in English required. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability: Ability to compute complex mathematical calculations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to decipher various reports and maintains reports upon request with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
