As a Registered Dietitian supporting Wellness & Preventive Medicine, you will provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to patients in a 100% outpatient setting. Using a functional nutrition approach, you will assess nutritional needs and develop evidence-based care plans that emphasize food as medicine, anti-inflammatory eating patterns, whole-foods-based interventions, and food quality as a key driver of health and wellness. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize nutrition care, improve patient outcomes, and enhance the overall patient experience. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work within an innovative functional nutrition model while supporting research initiatives related to nutrition and participating in community outreach efforts. As part of a broader organizational restructuring, this position will eventually align under the Center for Human Nutrition (CHN). The role also offers support for professional development and specialty certifications, including scholarship opportunities, allowing you to further expand your expertise while advancing the field of preventive and lifestyle-focused nutrition care. A caregiver in this role works a hybrid schedule from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (flexible) with 1 day onsite at Chagrin Falls FHC. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct patient care using medical nutrition therapy for an assigned patient population. Provide counseling and education services to patients with disease processes that require nutritional management. Implement a nutritional care plan, communicate plan, establish a follow-up system and maintain documentation. Write changes for diet orders; initiate nutrient intake assessments; assess patients for signs and symptoms of nutritional deficiencies; evaluate appropriate fluid and electrolytes; review laboratory and clinical progress notes; inform physicians of patients' nutritional status and need for changes in diet, enteral or parenteral feeding; develop care plans, documentation and reassessments. Coordinate efforts of dietetic technician assigned to area. Develop and contribute to Cleveland Clinic sponsored education programs for physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, students, peers and the public. Create and revise education materials related to disease management through medical nutrition therapy. Participate in program development designed to market and expand departmental services and revenue generation. Market services to potential and current referral sources; develop and implement services in response to client's needs and wants. Actively contribute to departmental initiatives, including committees and projects. Support the dietetic internship program as a supervised practice rotation preceptor and class instructor. Complete reports for ongoing productivity tracking. Participate in professional growth activities; attend and contribute to conferences and seminars on nutrition and related topics. Represent Cleveland Clinic on nutrition related matters. Conduct clinical research. Utilizes clinical software applications to facilitate care. Comply with all regulatory organizations including CMS, JCAO, ADA and policies and procedures of the department and Cleveland Clinic. Other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or a closely related field Maintain current licensure to practice Dietetics in the current state (LD) Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) One year of experience as a Registered Dietitian in clinical nutrition OR successful completion of a Dietetic Internship Program Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 2+ years of experience (post-internship) Experience in outpatient care Experience in patient counseli
