Responsibilities

  • Achieves individual production, maintaining incoming tasks and queues within established standards.
  • Reviews and processes inquiries from other areas. Researches problems, and corresponds with General Agents, Brokers and Underwriters to resolve problem.
  • Evaluates or prepares inspection reviews within established guidelines to ensure accuracy of premium basis and exposures. Corresponds with agents, brokers or program managers regarding inspectors' recommendations as necessary.
  • May assist with rating for new business quotes when asked to do so by Underwriting. Rating consists of basic Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating, composite rating, experience rating, and any other types of rating required by the underwriter.
  • Processes second and third requests and follows up on documentation requested until received from agent, broker, or program manager.
  • Within defined parameters creates and completes agency audit worksheets.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Reporting Relationships: Reports to supervisor or manager. No direct reports.
  • Typical Skills and Experiences:
  • Education: Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • License/Certification/Designation: Completion of general insurance courses such as IIA, AIS, ASLI is preferred.
  • Experience: 1 - 3 years related underwriting, processing or insurance support experience preferred. Prior experience as Tech Und Assistant, Statistical Processing Technician, Policy Processor or commercial Rater preferred.
  • Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
  • Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and HR Business Partner.
