About the role

This vacancy is for a GS-1105-7, Purchasing Agent located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION FACILITY DETROIT in DETROIT, Michigan. To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Knowledge of specialized technical purchasing methods and procedures to perform complex purchasing work. To include understanding of steps necessary to make purchases and uses accepted practices or procedures to resolve problems and deviations. Knowledge of government procurement concepts, principles and practices; the Federal procurement statues and regulations consisting of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Department of Homeland Security Acquisition Manual (HSAM), Coast Guard Acquisition Procedures (CGAP, COMDTINST M4200.19 series), Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) Manual (COMDINST M4200.13 series), COCO Alerts and local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Knowledge of procurement functions to determine and utilize the most economical means of providing procurement support to our customers. Skill in dealing with others in a work relationship to present/request information orally and to obtain the required information whether written or oral as appropriate.
