About the role

Public sector organizations are under increasing pressure to modernize how they engage constituents, disburse benefits, and build financial inclusion programs. Branded wallet infrastructure is a natural fit - and Accrue is positioned to be the platform that powers it. We're looking for a Strategic Partnerships Manager who knows how to sell into government. You understand how public sector procurement works, how to navigate complex multi-stakeholder environments, and how to build the long-term relationships that move deals forward on a government timeline. You're not intimidated by RFPs, long cycles, or layers of approvals - you know how to work the process while keeping momentum alive. Job Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue partnership opportunities across federal, state, and municipal government agencies, transit authorities, and public institutions
  • Own the full sales cycle in a public sector context - from initial engagement through procurement, negotiation, and close
  • Build relationships with the decision-makers, procurement officers, and program leads who influence public sector deals
  • Navigate RFP processes, compliance requirements, and government contracting with confidence
  • Work closely with Accrue leadership to shape how we position the platform for public sector use cases
  • Bring market intelligence back to the team to inform product and go-to-market decisions
  • Represent Accrue at relevant government, civic tech, and public sector conferences and forums
  • What we'd love to see
  • 5+ years of B2B sales or business development experience with a meaningful portion spent selling into federal, state, or municipal government
  • Proven ability to close deals in long-cycle, multi-stakeholder procurement environments
  • Familiarity with government contracting, RFP processes, and public sector compliance requirements
  • Strong relationship-building skills across both political and administrative layers of government organizations
  • Ability to translate Accrue's platform capabilities into compelling public sector use cases - benefits, financial wellness, constituent engagement
  • Comfortable operating in a startup environment without an established playbook

Requirements

  • Experience at a fintech, payments company, or civic tech vendor selling to government
  • Existing relationships within municipal, state, or federal agencies
  • Familiarity with financial inclusion, benefits disbursement, or constituent-facing digital programs

  • Company-contributed 401k
  • An empathetic team that values mental wellness and work/life balance
