Responsibilities

• Oversight of two Spanish courses (ESP) and four AHL courses specifically designed to integrate experiential learning components.
• Facilitate, coordinate, and supervise the day-to-day Experiential Learning activities, particularly within the francophone community engagement programs.
• Engage actively with community partners for student placements and program development.
• Manage and assess the reflective learning experiences of students to enhance the educational outcomes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation in pedagogical practices and curriculum development within the department.
• Required Qualifications:
• A PhD in an interdisciplinary field relevant to cultural policies and heritage, digital humanities, or related areas.
• Proven experience in pedagogical leadership and educational program management, especially in bilingual or multilingual settings.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong community and institutional partnerships.
• Fluent in French, English, and Spanish with substantial experience in academia.
• Handling administrative roles related to experiential learning.
• Experience in designing and leading interdisciplinary courses, with a special interest in experiential and community-engaged learning environments.
• Documented success in innovative teaching methods and curriculum development.

This innovative initiative is focused on providing in-depth, experiential learning opportunities both in English and French streams. The LTA will play a pivotal role in shaping the program's growth and sustainability. This position is being established to ensure the quality, continuity, and sustained development of the newly In-Depth Experiential Learning (EL) option within the Faculty. As a program in its formative stages, the Experiential Learning initiative requires dedicated, consistent instructional and administrative leadership - in both English and French streams - to build the community partnerships, pedagogical frameworks, and institutional relationships that this model depends upon. The LTA will be shared with the Department of Modern Languages (LLM), reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the program. The position will carry a teaching load of two Spanish courses (ESP) and four AHL courses (tagged as experiential learning), alongside a 3-credit administrative component dedicated to the facilitation, coordination, and supervision of Experiential Learning activities in the francophone community engagement stream. The administrative component is essential and warranted given the significantly higher workload demands of community-engaged and experiential courses compared to traditional classroom instruction. These responsibilities include liaison with community partners, student placement oversight, reflective learning assessment, and ongoing program coordination. These duties extend beyond standard course delivery.
