Our museum is supported by a community of nearly 1,000 members, 100 volunteers, alongside revenue from ticket sales, museum store and cafe sales, and generous tax-deductible donations from organizations and individuals. POSITION SUMMARY As the first line of contact with the public, the Visitor Services Representative plays a crucial role in representing our museum. This position requires greeting and welcoming all guests with a consistently positive, enthusiastic, and professional demeanor. The individual in this role serves as an ambassador for our organization, ensuring that every visitor's experience begins on a positive note. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: GIFT SHOP/TICKET COUNTER ● Welcome all guests, answer inquiries, provide relevant facts on the museum's offerings and history. ● Check in all ticketed guests and process ticketing transactions for walk in guests. ● Restock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.Set-up displays and arrange merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales. ● Keep the showroom and Visitor Center clean and orderly. ● Stamp, mark, or tag prices and generate barcodes on merchandise. ● Accept payments and make change; wrap or bag merchandise for customers. ● Reconcile cash in the register at the beginning and end of each shift. ● Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings. DEPOT CAFE Our newly remodeled café features an updated menu designed to enhance our customers' experience. Our café typically operates with a single staff member, making it a unique and manageable setting for training purposes. ● Warmly welcome all guests and provide excellent customer service. ● Brew coffee and craft all specialty drinks, prepare and serve all menu items with precision, maintain a thorough knowledge of our current menu offerings. ● Follow all opening and closing procedures including keeping the cafe clean. ● Accept payments and make change; wrap or bag menu items. ● Reconcile cash in the register at the beginning and end of each shift. ● Complete weekly inventory checklist at the end of each weekend. SCHEDULE ● 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM ● Saturday's and Sunday's with the opportunity to work extended summer hours Thursdays and Fridays and during special events.
