Job Title Reliability Tech A - Day Shift Position Overview Shaw is hiring a Reliability Tech A with specialized skills in welding and fabrication. This role serves as a senior-level fabrication and welding specialist within the maintenance and reliability team. This individual will lead fabrication efforts, mentor junior technicians, and ensure high-quality fabrication standards across the plant. This position is responsible for designing, building, and repairing equipment components through advanced welding and fabrication techniques while supporting overall equipment reliability. The technician will lead fabrication crews, contribute to root cause analysis of mechanical failures, and develop permanent solutions through custom fabrication and equipment modification. Shift: 7am-3pm Core Responsibilities Fabrication & Welding Leadership Lead fabrication crew on project work, installations, and equipment modifications Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on various materials Execute pipe welding and structural welding as required Fabricate custom components including : Brackets Stands and supports Ensure weld quality meets plant and safety standards Provide hands-on training and mentorship to Technicians D-B Blueprint & Design Interpretation Read and interpret 2D and 3D equipment drawings Translate drawings into fabricated components and assemblies Take field measurements and develop fabrication plans Work with engineering and maintenance to improve equipment design Equipment Repair & Reliability Support Support maintenance team by fabricating replacement parts and modifications Participate in root cause analysis of equipment failures Design and implement fabrication-based solutions to prevent recurring failures Assist in installation and alignment of fabricated equipment Tools, Measurement & Setup Accurately use measurement tools including: Tape measures Calipers Squares and levels Lay out, measure, cut, and fit materials for fabrication projects Select proper welding methods, filler materials, shielding gases, and equipment settings Required Qualifications & Skills Minimum 2 years of welding/fabrication experienc e in an industrial or manufacturing environment Proficiency in: MIG welding TIG welding Stick welding Experience with pipe welding and structural fabrication Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings Strong understanding of fabrication layout and fit-up techniques Ability to lead small crews or project teams Experience using basic measurement and layout tools
