Must be able to work safely in a production environment. Assemble all phases of power unit construction using a bill of material, arrangement drawing and schematic. (Use of hand tools such as tape measure, pneumatic tools and metal cutting equipment required.) Fit and weld pipe joints and structural assemblies per established welding codes using various welding processes such as GTAW, GMAW, SMAW and FCAW. Work independently with minimal supervision according to standard shop guidelines. Maintain a clean work area. Will work in an industrial environment in and around large machinery. Proper safety equipment is provided and must be worn at all times. Overtime may be requested. Perform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned. High school graduate from an accredited institution or equivalent (GED) with vocational/technical training in welding field/trade. Candidates with one to two years prior welding experience and some mechanical background preferred. Prior pipe welding experience is preferred. Experience reading drawings and schematics is preferred. Willingness to develop and refine proper welding techniques. Openness to pursuing certification in crane, scissor/forklift operation. Readiness to complete welder qualification testing. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrated capacity to listen carefully, follow directions, and complete work assignments in a timely manner. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis. Able to travel up to 20% as needed. Indefinite U.S. work authorized individuals only. Future sponsorship for work authorization unavailable.
