Responsibilities
- Supervise daily workshop and onsite activities involving control and instrumentation systems, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.
- Lead installation, assembly, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid power systems.
- Supervise installation of small-bore tubing, instrumentation tubing, impulse lines, valves, manifolds, and associated fittings in accordance with engineering drawings and industry standards.
- Interpret P&IDs, hydraulic schematics, instrumentation hook-up drawings, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.
- Ensure proper selection, installation, and inspection of instrumentation fittings, tubing, hydraulic hoses, valves, and fluid power components.
- Coordinate onsite activities, including manpower allocation, work sequencing, material readiness, and project progress reporting.
- Perform inspection and quality checks on tubing installations, hydraulic assemblies, and instrumentation systems before commissioning.
- Plan and supervise pressure testing, flushing, leak testing, and functional testing of hydraulic and instrumentation systems.
- Liaise with customers, subcontractors, project engineers, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution and timely resolution of technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, client requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Conduct toolbox meetings, risk assessments, and ensure safe work practices are followed by all team members.
- Prepare daily work reports, site progress updates, material requisitions, and completion documentation.
- Train, mentor, and supervise technicians to improve technical competency and workmanship.
- Support project planning, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Travel to customer sites, offshore facilities, shipyards, or industrial plants as required to support project execution and field services.
- Requirement:
- Minimum three (3) or more years of relevant work experience, preferably in engineering-related fields, marine, oil & gas, utilities, public sector services, or maintenance-related services.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation fittings, tube fittings, valves, manifolds, and small-bore tubing systems.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, fluid power equipment, pneumatic systems, and industrial instrumentation.
- Familiarity with tube bending, tubing installation, ferrule fitting assembly, and pressure testing procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, hydraulic schematics, and instrumentation diagrams.
- Good leadership, communication, problem-solving, and customer-facing skills.
