Duties and Responsibilities Instruction & Classroom Leadership Teach HIM concepts including medical terminology, anatomy and physiology basics, health data management, EHR systems, billing and coding, and healthcare compliance aligned with Ohio CTE standards. Guide students through hands‑on projects involving medical documentation, coding assignments, data entry, chart audits, and workflow simulations. Integrate industry‑standard tools such as EHR software, ICD‑10‑CM, CPT, HCPCS coding systems, and healthcare data applications. Create a structured, accuracy‑focused classroom environment that reflects real‑world HIM and healthcare administrative practices. Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including small‑group instruction and remediation. Maintain an orderly, safe, and productive classroom and computer lab environment with clear expectations for student behavior. Career‑Technical Program Responsibilities Prepare students for Industry‑Recognized Credentials related to health information, billing and coding, and healthcare compliance (e.g., OSHA‑10 Healthcare, HIPAA training, NHA certifications).
