Senior Electronics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Are you an experienced Electronics Engineer that would like to aid in the delivery of high-performance hardware that forms part of our Eurofighter Typhoon Radar?
• What you'll do as Senior Electronics Engineer:
• Ensuring that Processor products are delivered on time and to cost by assisting in a range of design, test & manufacturability issues.
• Provide technical hardware expertise to the development branch of the programme, assisting in Verification & Validation activities.
• Design engineering solutions considering all requirements such as product quality, safety, reliability and testability.
• Resolve routine and complex technical and delivery issues within engineering, related to defined work package assignments, and in accordance with local team engineering plans and processes.
• Communicate non-routine technical and delivery issues to local engineering team or direct line management with resolution proposals.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to develop skills and competencies within the individual's own engineering discipline and wider project.

Requirements

• A degree or higher qualification in Electronics or a related engineering discipline.
• Supporting throughout the full hardware lifecycle from requirements analysis; through design, and unit test; integrating hardware with the target system; production support; and lastly to acceptance test and delivery to customer
• Hands on experience of Hardware, Firmware & Software Integration of digital systems onto hardware platforms is essential.
• Good domain knowledge of high-speed serial communication links and knowledge of associated protocols and architectures.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a demonstrable tenacity for understanding and implementing robust Root Cause and Corrective Action plans.
• Working within a multi-disciplined team of engineers to solve real integration problems on complex systems.
• Fully documenting and recording your work products; keeping them under configuration management and providing plans and progress reports.
• Good understanding and experience of the design of high-performance products for series production.
• Hardware schematic generation.
• A background with experience working with high-speed digital technologies.

Job Description: Salary: £45,000 to £61,950 Leonardo UK operates a grade-based salary framework with broad bands. The salary range shown reflects the approved grade band for this role, or a narrower hiring range published within that band, and is benchmarked against the external market. Exceptions above the standard range are managed through governance controls to protect internal equity.
