About the role
We're seeking a full-time Pet Groomer to join our team. This is a commission-based position reporting to the Practice Manager and Medical Director. Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality grooms that meet client expectations
- Ensure a safe, gentle, and positive experience for every pet
- Collaborate with medical and boarding teams
- Consult with clients before and after services
- Monitor pet health and report concerns
- Maintain grooming tools and ensure equipment safety
- Keep grooming and bathing areas clean and sanitized
- Schedule appointments and assist with client onboarding
- Resolve client concerns professionally and promptly
Requirements
- Passion for animal care (dogs + cats)
- Commitment to safe, low-stress handling (no forceful or aversive techniques)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
- Detail-oriented with basic computer skills
- Physically able to handle dogs of all sizes (up to 60 lbs)
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling
- 2-4 years of professional grooming experience preferred
- Grooming certification preferred (not required)
- Knowledge of breed standards and cuts
- Skilled in proper scissoring techniques
