Category Manager - Indirect

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies across assigned indirect spend portfolios, aligned to business priorities and procurement objectives.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including market analysis, tendering, supplier evaluation, commercial negotiations and contract implementation.
• Deliver measurable value outcomes through cost optimisation, supplier performance improvement, risk mitigation and innovation initiatives.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, governance forums, contract performance and continuous improvement programs.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver commercially robust procurement solutions.
• Provide commercial leadership and procurement expertise across a broad range of indirect spend categories.
• Ensure sourcing and contracting activities comply with procurement governance, policy requirements and delegated authorities.
• Develop category insights, market intelligence and executive reporting to support business decision-making.
• Contribute to procurement transformation initiatives, process improvement and capability uplift across the Procurement function.
• About You
• You will be an experienced procurement professional who enjoys working in a complex environment and partnering with stakeholders to deliver commercial outcomes.
• You will bring:
• 5-10 years' experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Category Management within a large corporate environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing indirect spend categories such as Professional Services, Technology, Corporate Services, Facilities Management, Travel, HR Services or similar.
• Strong category strategy development, sourcing and supplier relationship management capability.
• Advanced commercial negotiation and contract management experience.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including experience engaging senior leaders and executives.
• Experience working within matrixed organisations and managing competing stakeholder priorities.
• Exposure to procurement platforms such as SAP, Ariba, Coupa or equivalent systems
