Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced machinery diagnostics and failure investigations on critical and complex rotating equipment, including Gas Turbines, Centrifugal and Reciprocating Compressors, Steam Turbines, Turbo Expanders, Blowers, and Pumps.
  • Execute in-depth vibration and condition-based diagnostics to identify early-stage faults, abnormal operating behaviour, and degradation mechanisms.
  • Support major equipment overhauls, commissioning, startup, and post-overhaul condition assessments.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to condition monitoring engineers and junior diagnostics staff.

  • Drive value delivery through proactive diagnostics, early fault detection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Should be flexible to support Reliability Rotating Equipment workflows (Condition Monitoring, Preventive Maintenance Optimization, History Briefs, Lubrication Analysis & Management, BOP offline Vibration Management ..etc)
  • Contribute to standardization of diagnostics methodologies, best practices, and knowledge sharing.
  • Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 10+ years of total experience, including 8+ years in Machinery Diagnostics and Condition Monitoring specialist including Complex machineries including Gas Turbines, Centrifugal and Reciprocating Compressors, Steam Turbines, Turbo Expanders, Blowers, and Pumps .
  • Hands-on experience with rotating equipment overhauls and field troubleshooting.
  • VCAT Category III certified professional (mandatory).
  • MLA II certified professional (Strongly preferred).
  • Machine Diagnostics Methodology trained professional by Baker Huge / GE Oil Gas (strongly preferred).
  • Proven experience working with complex and high-energy machinery in oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, or power generation environments.

Total Number of Openings 1 Establishes processes that prevent or reduce the likelihood/frequency of failures. Develops reliability plans and preventive maintenance programs to minimize recurring performance issues. Performs Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for reliability issues . Applies Risk Based Inspection (RBI), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and/or Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to reliability activities Uses reliability modeling and Life-Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) in combination with engineering analysis to design equipment or recommend maintenance methods for improvement. Supports medium sized clients/customers and makes significant contributions to more complex projects under periodic supervision. General knowledge of the work function and Chevron's practices. Role Purpose : The Machinery Diagnostics Engineer is responsible for advanced diagnostics, failure investigations, and reliability improvement of critical rotating equipment. The role focuses on deep technical analysis, complex machinery troubleshooting, performance monitoring and driving sustainable reliability and availability improvements across operations of Refinery / LNG business functions.
