About the role
The role of a Full-Time Life Enrichment / Activities Coordinator is to create an environment in the home that provides opportunity for the community members to enjoy the highest possible quality of life while providing psychosocial support to elders, families, and partners.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the planning and implementation of activities for elders that encourage socialization, entertainment, relaxation, and improve daily living skills.
- Completes an in-depth assessment of each elder and provides for elder specific materials for activities identified by the elders Leads monthly House Counsel Meetings
- Provides and maintains each House with a supply of common materials for indoor and outdoor recreation and diversion while mentoring the elder assistants with activity direction.
- Assures that out of home activities are available to elders
- Weekly visits to each House to evaluate individual levels of engagement
- Create individual opportunities for all newly admitted elders as per Home Activities Policy
- Completes all Activity related reports and MDS documentation
Requirements
- Education: Post-secondary education preferred, with emphasis on social work, counseling or geriatrics. MEPAP-1, required or obtained within designated time. A licensed Therapeutic Recreation Specialist will be considered
- Licensure: Holds a valid OH driver's license, Serv-Safe, preferred, CPR and First Aid certifications, preferred.
