About the role

Serves as an Operations Research Analyst in the Master Planning and Integration Branch, within the Spaceport Development Division. Provide support development of a centralized spaceport model, integrate technical requirements into planning, modeling, and analysis, while tracking impacts to spaceport common use infrastructure. Evaluate operations impacts from increased launch activity and help identify operational risks associated with future missions and help inform future spaceport investments. In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 level: Supporting technical lead in modeling and simulation of operations and associated system impacts, using a variety of complex tools and methodologies to perform analysis; Assisting the technical lead in design, development, and adaptation of mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific tools, methods and techniques to analyze problems; and Assisting the technical lead with studies that require careful planning, efficient coordination of efforts, and application of practical scientific judgement combined with a high degree of creativity and originality where precedents are nonexistent or vaguely applicable. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Modeling and simulating facility operations, including assessment of associated system impacts, using a variety of complex tools and methodologies to perform analysis; Designing, developing, and adapting mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific tools, methods, and techniques to analyze problems of a highly significant nature which may be broadly stated or ill defined; and Performing technical studies which require careful planning, efficient coordination of efforts, and application of practical scientific judgement in support of ongoing projects, programs, or initiatives.
