About the role

The Key Account Manager plays a critical role in expanding Xylem's market presence across the Municipal and water utilities sector. The position is responsible for identifying and converting new business opportunities, strengthening key customer relationships, and contributing to the development of sales and marketing strategies, segment budgets, industry training initiatives, and competitive positioning. Act as a subject-matter expert by supporting customers with product, application, and market knowledge, while contributing to sales and marketing strategies, industry training initiatives, and segment budget input. Gather and analyse competitive intelligence, market trends, and industry data, and deliver actionable insights, market updates, and customer account plans to support strategic decision-making and strengthen Xylem's competitive positioning. Promote Xylem's full suite of solutions, including products, services, spare parts, and preventative maintenance agreements, through marketing campaigns, sales promotions, exhibitions, tradeshows

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in marketing and sales, ideally within the water, utilities, infrastructure, or related industrial sector
  • Tertiary qualifications in sales, engineering, or business are highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of municipal and water utilities markets, with the ability to identify and convert commercial opportunities
  • Proven ability to build trusted customer relationships and manage key accounts across multiple stakeholder levels
  • Experience in tender identification, pipeline development, and strategic sales planning
  • Proficiency in CRM systems such as Salesforce and strong reporting capability
  • Technical or industry knowledge in treatment water infrastructure or engineered solutions will be highly regarded
