Scope of Position This detail-oriented individual, as part of the Mechanical Engineering team, will be responsible for supporting the engineering, sales, and production teams by producing high-quality designs, creating and maintaining accurate assembly models, and developing professional technical documents that support both internal teams and customer applications. This position requires strong CAD/ modeling skills and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear guidance, documentation, and marketing-grade content. This position does not have any direct reports. This position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager. This role is onsite and is based in Oviedo, FL. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Research, design, and development of stainless-steel fixtures, valves, and ancillary components utilizing various manufacturing methods (sheet metal, casting, machining, and injection molding) Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles specific to sheet metal processes such as laser cutting, punching, and press brake forming Create and update technical documentation, including fabrication drawings, assembly instructions, and specifications Develop and maintain 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using CAD software Perform laboratory testing and gather data to support prototype validation and performance evaluation Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues during the assembly and testing of various mechanical components Generate product renderings and drawings to support marketing and product documentation needs Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and suppliers, to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Mechanical Engineering Manager or the Company management. Ensure all engineering designs, analyses, and documentation are accurate, compliant with standards, and ethically executed without compromise Travel Requirements: Occasional (up to 15%) Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 3+ years of experience in sheet metal design and new product development (internships/co-ops may be considered) Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as within a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable. Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
