About the role

This role works closely with the Oral Health Category Head and Category Leadership Team including Operating Units ( OU ) Leads. This role provides high-quality financial insight, performance tracking, and decision support. As a Finance Director, you will drive delivery of value creation from the Category lens. This will cover strategy, innovation, communication, expert, and execution. You will support decision-making leveraging brand-level insights, analysis, and disciplined resource allocation to help drive sustainable growth. The role offers an excellent development opportunity to build deep commercial and category finance capability . Working as part of the Category Team , you will collaborate with stakeholders across the central team and OUs , as well as broader stakeholders, to ensure robust financial analysis, clear performance management , and timely identification of risks and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Support and partner with Category Head and their Team , contributing to delivery of category sales, brand contribution, and value creation.
  • Contribute to category and brand financial performance management, including analysis of brand contribution, margins, and resource allocation effectiveness.
  • Prepare and deliver financial analysis and insights to support category strategy discussions, trade-offs, and decision- m aking across the year.
  • Support I ntegrated G rowth P lan , A nnual B usiness P lan , in-year forecasting, ensuring robustness, consistency and alignment between category plans and financial outcomes.
  • Assist in performance tracking, forecast updates, and early identification of risks and opportunities, escalating key issues and driving solution sets as appropriate.
  • Support preparation of Monthly Performance & Delivery Reviews (PR D s), consolidating inputs from Category Team a nd articulat ing key drivers, variances, and trends.
  • Produce clear and timely category financial analysis including KPIs (e.g. ROI, B rand M arket C ombination performance, A&P effectiveness ), performance drivers, and forward-looking outlooks.
  • Support impairment analysis for category and brand assets, including data preparation, documentation, and compliance support.
  • Assist in development and evaluation of category business cases and growth value cases, providing financial modelling and analytical support.
  • Monitor brand contribution performance across the portfolio and support prioritisation discussions through robust data and analysis.
  • Build strong working relationships with C ategory incl. OU s , R&D, Supply Chain , and broader finance stakeholders, acting as a credible , collaborative and influential finance partner.
  • Support specific elements of the category inorganic growth agenda (e.g. innovation cases, licence deals, M&A analysis) as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree / Qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 7 + years of experience in financial planning & analysis and/or finance business partnering, with a strong track record of influencing senior commercial decision ‑ making.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders , adjusting style , ultimately be seen as a value adding sparring partner for Category Head and their Team notwithstanding differences in seniority , functions and styles .
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including data visualisation , getting buy in, resolving trade offs .
  • Proven end ‑ to ‑ end P&L ownership and performance management experience within complex, matrixed organisations.
  • Strong financial expertise across analysis, evaluation, forecasting, strategic planning, modelling, and senior ‑ level decision support.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, and influencing capability to drive alignment across multiple stakeholders and functions.
  • Recognised as a subject ‑ matter expert within own discipline ideally within FMCG or similarly complex industries.
  • Ability to solve complex problems independently, contribute to strategic decisions within area of expertise, and lead or support
