About the role

The Forest landscape Sector Supervisor will oversee and supervise all field activities related to farmer-facing tasks from the TUBURA Tree program. Responsibilities

  • Prepare logistics: Develop and implement a logistical plan for each field activity, including determining the necessary resources and materials, coordinating transportation, and ensuring that all relevant parties are informed about the activity and its purpose.
  • Monitor activity timelines and budgets: Ensure that all field activities are conducted according to the project timeline and budget. Track progress against timelines and budgets and alert stakeholders if any adjustments need to be made.
  • Manage field team: Manage the field team responsible for carrying out the activities, providing them with guidance, training, and support as needed to ensure successful implementation.
  • Maintain records: Keep accurate records of all field activities, including attendance, resources used, and any challenges or successes encountered during implementation.
  • Continuously improve logistics: Continuously review and improve the logistical plan and processes for each field activity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage out growers: Manage out growers to insure that production activities including training, producing healthy and planned number of seedlings to insure a successful implementation.
  • Act as the field team's main point of contact
  • Be available to answer questions and provide guidance to the field team.
  • Facilitate communication between the field team and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the field team is equipped with the necessary resources and information to carry out their responsibilities.
  • Identify and address any issues or challenges that arise during field activities.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the field team, and provide feedback to improve their performance.
  • Plan for direct reports growth and provide performance development plans
  • Develop growth plans for direct reports by assessing their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  • Create and implement performance development plans that outline specific goals and actions for direct reports to improve their skills and performance.
  • Provide regular feedback to direct reports and coach them on how to achieve their performance goals.
  • Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports to enhance their skills and support their career growth.
  • Collaborate with direct reports to establish clear performance metrics and regularly review progress towards achieving those metrics.
  • Co-lead field team trainings on the project's concept, targets and objectives
  • Collaborate with other team members to design and develop effective training materials.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to ensure that field team members are up-to- date with the latest project developments and requirements.
