About the role
Job Description Responsible for the cost-effective maintenance of LNG vessels and their equipment to ensure safe, delay-free operation and compliance with flag state administration requirements, applicable class requirements, and industrial standards. Monitor and maintain vessel deck and engine planned maintenance system. Monitor and arrange statutory and classification surveys for vessels. Coordinate the supply of stores, supplies, spares, and consumables. Coordinate repairs, defect rectifications, and modifications. Monitor adherence to company standards and charterer requirements. Assist in controlling and monitoring costs relevant to the technical department. Maintain and upkeep technical manuals, drawings, and catalogues from makers and yards. Attend shipyard and classification societies on technical matters. Verify documentation and certifications of new buildings/deliveries. Lead accident/incident investigations related to technical matters such as equipment failure or malfunction, if required. Carry out annual vessel technical inspections/audits onboard as scheduled. Assist the Group Technical Manager in the running of the technical department. Execute additional project-specific technical requirements promptly. Execute technical modifications for projects, including approvals and certifications where necessary. Attend to technical troubles arising during projects and liaise with makers if required. Plan and coordinate technical repairs during projects, including vessel docking where necessary. Ensure any defects that may affect the charter are resolved promptly. Participate in interviews and make recommendations regarding new hires and promotions. Monitor vessel performance and ensure follow-up action. Manage vessel budgets and operating expenditure. Plan, monitor, and manage dry-dockings and major scheduled and unscheduled repairs. Conduct regular vessel visits to confirm condition and compliance with Company operating standards and provide vessel condition reports. Create a partnership with other departments such as HSQE, crewing, and operations assigned to the same vessels.
