About the role

This position is located at Stars and Stripes Central in Washington, D.C. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. A graduate level degree in any of the following concentrations; Archives Management, Library Science, Information Services, or Information Management from an accredited college or university. 2.Additionally, requires one (1) year of progressively responsible work experience equivalent to the next lower grade level which demonstrated experience with archive/library management or library automation service functions. 3. Must have working knowledge of electronic/digital archiving systems and microfilm management. 4. Must have demonstrated experience conducting Internet research and using various computer software applications. 5. Experience in cross-referencing and retrieval of reference material in hard copy and digital formats is required. 6. Must be able to communicated effectively orally and in writing. PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: Library, archive and research experience with a daily newspaper. Knowledge of the overseas U.S. military community. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Highly Preferred- 1. Posses library, archive and research experience with a daily newspaper. 2. Posses knowledge of overseas U.S. military community. Experience MUST be reflected on your Resume at the time of application and Transcripts/Certifications MUST be uploaded to the Documents section to be considered for Standard and/or Highly Qualified for this position.
