Come join our GTE Financial team! We are looking for an organized, professional, analytical individual to join as a Mortgage Loan Processor . The Mortgage Loan Processor will review and analyze documentation submitted by applicants for the approval of first mortgage and home equity loans. The Processor will act as the point of contact for members throughout the loan process. The Loan Processor ensures compliance with GTE product and pricing guidelines. What does GTE look for in a Mortgage Loan Processor? Processing: Counsels and advises callers on new home equity loan options and/or required documentation. Answers calls when presented directly and on ACD line assigned and returns voicemail messages the same day whenever possible and follows up with all members according to commitments made. Directs the loan to the underwriting team if it does not meet minimum standards or if it is required based on the loan product or situation as defined in the Product Guidelines. Communicates lending decisions to both internal and external channels. Collects documentation to fulfill UW conditions. Keeps members engaged and informed until the loan is ready for closing. Follows up after closing to ensure questions are answered, and needs are met. Retains and enhances mortgage acumen and specifically maintain knowledge of mortgage products and services offered by the credit union. Reinforce the selling points of our loan types, rates, payments, and terms of mortgage products. Responsible for posting and accuracy of the loan set-up in core and lending systems. Reconciles Consumer loan funding loan packages. Ensures disclosures and AVMs are received, and loans are denied based on regulatory requirements. Uploads valid documentation used to obtain loan approval. Completes calculations as needed for Assets and Income (using W2s, Tax Returns, Paystubs) Reviews service orders for accuracy, such as: Credit report to determine the credit worthiness of applicant based on industry standards for collateral/equity value- questions discrepancies and disputes. Homeowner's insurance and flood insurance (if applicable) ensuring mortgagee clause is in favor of credit union and rating is B or better. Flood certifications and other verifications to prepare a file for closing AVMs for value and updating system as needed. O& Es for liens and legal description accuracy Operational: Perform all responsibilities in accordance with current organizational goals and standards. For maintaining Credit Union goals, it is the responsibility of each employee to strive for the continuous quality improvement of processes and quality of service to internal and external customers. All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and targets established as part of the annual performance planning process or as the result of organizational goal and production planning. Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish). Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred. Minimum 1-3 years' experience in lending or a combination of education and experience. Entry Level Position Details: Location: Downtown Tampa - GTE Headquarters Department Hours: Monday- Friday (8:00 am to 5:00 pm) Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects. The position is defined as hybrid in nature, (in-office, or remote) and may be changed at any time by management with appropriate notice, if possible. Required for Remote/Hybrid Work: A quiet workplace so you can focus on delivering excellent service to our members. Some positions will require performance standards to be met to qualify for alternative work arrangements. Required to have power and high-speed internet over 100MB (minimum). Video capability (connection of 1.5 Mbps up and down recommended). Candidates must provide and meet all technical requirements prior to the first day of training.
