Payroll Officer

Responsibilities

• Accurately process payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with company policies, employment laws, and regulations.
• Maintain employee records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and other changes, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Manage the end-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls, including calculations for wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
• Provide specialist support for Workday to Preceda workflows and assist with Preceda system administration.
• Respond promptly to employee enquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and tax-related matters, providing exceptional customer service and collaborating with HR and Finance for accurate reporting and reconciliations.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and employment laws.
• Expertise in termination calculations, PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, workers compensation, and long service leave.
• Experience with Workday, Preceda, and Kronos, regarded highly.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under tight deadlines and handle complex payroll scenarios.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve complex payroll issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with employees and stakeholders. Able to work independently and as part of a team.

This 12-month fixed term contract involves managing payroll administration, from data entry to tax compliance, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
