Paediatric SEN Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• In this role, you will:
• Deliver specialist assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and associated SEN.
• Provide 1:1 therapy sessions tailored to the individual needs of pupils aged 6-21.
• Offer clinical supervision, support, and guidance to Band 5 SLTs within the team.
• Work closely with teaching and multi-disciplinary staff to ensure integrated and effective support.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and service standards.
• Contribute to review meetings, planning sessions, and wider school development discussions.
• Qualifications and Experience
• To be considered for this role, you must have:
• A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
• HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
• Previous experience working with children and young people with SEN.
• Strong communication, organisational, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Experience at Band 6/7 level and confidence supervising junior therapists.

This nurturing and specialist educational environment supports children and young people aged 6 to 21 years with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will provide high-quality, individualised Speech and Language Therapy interventions within a setting that prioritises personalised learning, therapeutic support, and close multi-disciplinary collaboration. This role is ideal for an experienced Band 6/7 therapist who is confident working autonomously while also supporting junior colleagues. You will provide direct 1:1 therapy as well as clinical guidance to two Band 5 Speech and Language Therapists within the school.
