About the role

As a Supervisory AST Branch Chief within the Research and Engineering Directorate, you will provide technical and organizational leadership for branch personnel performing aerospace research engineering, and technology development activities. You will be responsible for workforce planning, employee supervision and development, strategic planning, and technical oversight supporting Agency programs, projects, and mission objectives. To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level: Performing aerospace research engineering, technology development, testing, production, or operations work related to power systems, propulsion systems, flight systems, communication systems, materials and structures or other associated aerospace technologies. Leading technical teams or organizations responsible for developing new technologies, resolving technical issues, or executing aerospace research and/or development activities. Coordinating with program/project offices, senior leadership, industry, academia, or other government agencies to support aerospace research, engineering, or technology development activities.
