- Conduct impact assessments of regulatory change on reporting processes, systems, and data requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory reporting queries from the PRA, FCA, and internal and external auditors.
- Ensure alignment between regulatory reporting outputs and the bank's Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP).
- Data, Systems, and Process Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement in data quality, automation, and efficiency across the regulatory reporting function.
- Own the relationship with technology and data teams to enhance regulatory reporting infrastructure, including XBRL taxonomy management and data lineage.
- Lead or support system implementation and upgrade projects related to regulatory reporting platforms (SUADE).
- Champion data governance standards and ensure regulatory data is complete, accurate, and reconciled to source systems and the general ledger.
- Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of regulatory reporting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
- Provide regular reporting and insight to the CFO, Finance Leadership Team, Board Risk Committee, and Audit Committee as required.
- Collaborate with Risk, Treasury, Financial Control, and other functions to ensure consistency and integrity of reported data.
- Represent the bank at industry forums, working groups, and consultations on regulatory reporting matters.
- Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in regulatory reporting within a UK-authorised bank, building society, or major financial institution.
- Deep technical knowledge of PRA and FCA regulatory reporting frameworks, including COREP, FINREP, liquidity returns, statistical reporting, and capital adequacy.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of Basel prudential requirements and their application to UK banking.
- Excellent knowledge of XBRL reporting standards and taxonomy.
- Experience engaging directly with the PRA, FCA, or Bank of England on regulatory matters.
- Professional qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent (or qualified by experience at a senior level).
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
