Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; and 1 year experience conducting research in a laboratory setting
• Master's degree in Biology, Toxicology, Public Health, Biochemistry, or Microbiology; and 1+ years of experience in laboratory management and cell culture work.
• Special and Physical Qualifications:
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability and willingness to work some weekends and holidays (flexible scheduling of hours may be available).
• Operation Essential Personnel - This position may be asked to work during an official closure, but who is otherwise not required to report to the physical campus during a closure and whose absence does not present a risk to the safety, resources, and well-being of the campus per FASOP HR-01.
• Requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching (above shoulder), reaching (below shoulder), vision (near sight), vision (far sight), and lifting less than 50 pounds.

They will perform immunological, biochemical, cellular and molecular biological assays for these studies. The applicant must be able to work independently in a collaborative team environment. The Research Associate will also perform laboratory tasks as assigned, including ordering supplies and inventory maintenance (20% time-effort). They will assist in the training and supervision of student workers and graduate students working in the laboratory (10% time-effort). Job Responsibilities: 35% - Work/assist on current projects involving in vitro exposure of cell cultures and perform immunological, biochemical, cellular and molecular biological assays for these studies. 35% - Work/assist on current projects involving in vivo studies related to inhalation of environmental pollutants and perform immunological, biochemical, cellular and molecular biological assays for these studies. 20% -Perform laboratory tasks as assigned, including ordering supplies and inventory maintenance. 10%- Train and supervise student workers and graduate students working in the laboratory. Other duties as assigned.
