Role Summary: The Tax Manager - Asia Region role oversees operational tax processes, ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, drives process optimization, and partners closely with cross‑functional teams including Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Legal, and external advisors within the Asia Region. The position requires deep technical tax expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to manage complex workflows in a fast‑moving environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Tax Compliance & Reporting - for all companies within the Asia region Oversee the preparation, review, and timely filing of all corporate income tax and indirect tax returns. Review quarterly and annual tax provision calculations/packages under ASC 740. Ensure proper accounting and reporting for income tax withholding on cross-border payments. Support U.S. tax reporting needs such as providing timely details needed for annual U.S. tax returns Manage tax audits and inquiries, coordinating responses and documentation. Assist with compliance changes resulting from BEPS 2.0/Pillar Two, where applicable Operational Leadership Establish and maintain robust tax processes, controls, and documentation. Monitor and document operational compliance with terms of intercompany agreements and relationships. Ensure compliance with tax concession programs, e.g. Pioneer and Development and Expansion Incentives Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and automation within tax operations. Strategic Tax Management Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to evaluate tax impacts of business initiatives. Support M&A activities, including due diligence, integration, and post‑transaction compliance. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, assessing implications for the company. Technology & Process Optimization Collaborate with IT and Finance to improve data quality and streamline tax data flows. Champion digital transformation within the tax function. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Serve as a key liaison between tax operations and internal stakeholders. Communicate complex tax concepts to non‑tax business partners in a clear, actionable way. Coordinate with external auditors, advisors, and tax authorities. Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Requirements

  • 6-8+ years tax experience working for a multinational company and/or accounting firm
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams, projects and complex workflows
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized and willing to take ownership of projects
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project‑management skills
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in fast‑paced settings
  • Familiarity with tax technology platforms (e.g., OneSource, Corptax, Alteryx)
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience with tax implications of M&A
  • Education, Certifications, and Requirement:
  • Minimum Education and Certification Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree with an emphasis on Accounting/Finance
  • Preferred Education and Certification Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Accounting/Finance/Tax
  • Work Environment:
  • Analytical - heavy use of tax law, financial data, and modeling
  • Strategic - advising leadership on tax planning, risk, and long‑term implications
  • Regulated - strict adherence to federal, state, and international tax rules
  • Deadline‑driven - especially during quarterly closes, audits, and filing seasons
