Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily construction activities, inspection staff, field operations, and project safety, schedule, budget, and contract compliance.
  • Oversee marine, structural, geotechnical, and heavy civil construction, including foundations, piling, concrete, shoreline improvements, and utilities.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification.
  • 10+ years of Resident Engineering, Construction Management/Inspection, or Heavy Civil Construction experience, including 5+ years as a Resident or Deputy Resident Engineer.
  • Experience with marine, waterfront, structural, geotechnical, and heavy civil construction, including foundations, piling, concrete structures, shoreline improvements, and utility relocations.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and coordinate with owners, engineers, contractors, utilities, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of public-sector contract administration, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, CPM scheduling, QA/QC, safety, and project documentation.
  • Experience with NYCEDC, NYC Parks, NYCDDC, NYCDOT, NYSDOT, MTA, Port Authority, or similar agencies; familiarity with CM/GC, Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, and Design-Bid-Build delivery.
