Para más información, visite WPP.com . VML Costa Rica, part of WP, is seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our Backend API Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable APIs that power our applications. This role requires strong technical expertise in Java and modern API development frameworks, with a focus on creating efficient, secure, and well-documented services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs using Java and Spring frameworks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with appropriate test coverage
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing API implementations
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
• Optimize application performance and scalability
• Document APIs thoroughly for both internal and external consumers
• Contribute to continuous integration and deployment pipelines
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
• Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 3+ years of professional experience in Java development
• Strong proficiency in Java 8+ and core Java concepts
• Extensive experience with Spring Framework, particularly Spring Boot
• Proven experience in RESTful API design and development
• Solid understanding of API security best practices
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Desired Skills and Experience
• Experience with Spring Cloud for microservices architecture
• Proficiency with AWS services integration (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, etc.)
• Experience with Docker containerization and orchestration
• Knowledge of DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with Mulesoft and Dataweave (optional but advantageous)
• Experience with API testing tools and methodologies
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (ELK stack, Prometheus, etc.)
• Knowledge of API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI)
• Experience with payment gateway integration (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Braintree) and secure transaction handling.
