AECOM is seeking a Graduate Specialist to join our growing Tunnel Team and excavations practice in Markham, Ontario. This candidate will be supporting design and field execution across TBM and SEM/NATM works, support of excavation (SOE), shafts, and deep excavations. This is a newly created requisition. Job Responsibilities: Assist with method statements, sequencing and temporary works reviews. Help prepare drawings, calculations, and design notes under the guidance of senior engineers; and support construction-phase activities such as RFIs/site clarifications, daily reports, inspection checklists, and as-built documentation. Contribute to materials and geotechnical submittal reviews (e.g., shotcrete/concrete mixes, ground improvement, waterproofing) Help set up and track instrumentation and monitoring (settlement, convergence, inclinometers), and translate data into clear, actionable summaries aligned with trigger/action thresholds. In the field, you will learn how to observe TBM operations (launch/arrival readiness, ring build, annulus grouting) and SEM headings (advance lengths, support categories, shotcrete QA/QC) while reinforcing safety, environmental, and quality expectations on site. Collaborate closely with structural, geotechnical, and construction management teams, gaining hands-on exposure to temporary/permanent works, excavation support systems (diaphragm/secant/soldier piles, bracing/anchors), dewatering, and utility protection. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
