Purchasing Specialist (US MNC/Production/East)

About the role

We are partnering with a global leader in semiconductor and advanced manufacturing technology, supporting high-volume production and precision engineering operations. This role plays a critical part in direct procurement and supplier management, ensuring the timely sourcing of parts, spares, and engineering components to support manufacturing excellence. The Requirements Minimum Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or relevant discipline. At least 3 years of experience in direct purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing or semiconductor environment. Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and material specifications. Hands-on experience using SAP and preferably PLM tools (e.g., Teamcenter). Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage supplier performance and cross-functional collaboration. The Responsibilities Perform direct purchasing activities including creation of Purchase Orders (POs) based on supplier lead time, approved pricing, and production requirements. Interpret and provide engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs to suppliers to ensure accurate part manufacturing and delivery. Manage supplier performance by tracking delivery schedules, ensuring timely updates in SAP, and resolving delivery issues. Follow established processes for order tracking, ECN implementation, FAI coordination, and GR/IR follow-ups. Collaborate with engineering, MPM, and SCM teams to identify new suppliers and support cost reduction initiatives. Maintain optimal inventory levels by coordinating with manufacturing and supply chain teams while ensuring material availability for production.
