Coordinate and compile proposal materials in collaboration with internal and external collaborators. Job Description Summary The SRS Research Administrator I pre-award is responsible for research proposal preparation and submission; providing support to researchers in the preparation and submission of standard research proposals which includes determining the sponsor's requirements; and preparing budgets and forms according to the guidelines established by The Texas A&M University System, Federal Cost Accounting Standards and sponsor guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Proposal Submission - Provides support to researchers in the submission of proposals. Enters proposal information into required submission systems (i.e., Grants.gov, etc.) and financial systems.
Requirements
- Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- No prior experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
- Experience in pre-award sponsored research administration.
- Research administration experience within the A&M System or other university setting.
- Knowledge of Federal grant and contract regulations and practical application of current research administration issues.
- Knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Experience in providing customer service.
- Experience in developing budgets.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
