  • Equipment Maintenance
  • Accurate and efficiently provides high level disinfection of all endoscopes/washers based on ASGE, manufacturer guidelines, and established Sharp Policy and Procedure.
  • Maintains quality logbook documentation for regulatory compliance. (Measured and monitored through observation by direct supervisor and QA book audits).
  • Department Efficiency and Effectiveness
  • Organizes and completes daily requirements and responsibilities within time frames.
  • Ensures optimal workflow by assisting in transfers of patients as necessary; fosters efficient turnaround of rooms.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies and may assist with ordering supplies and restocking rooms.
  • Maintains appropriate supply levels. Cost conscious in usage.
  • Collaborates with departmental leadership to maintain equipment, and supply costs within fiscal budget.
  • Completes department inventories per guidelines and participates in and prepares for site inspections and inventories.

  • Serves as a departmental resource for areas of endoscope reprocessing and equipment maintenance.
  • Patient Care
  • Accurately and efficiently performs patient care activities under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Is proficient in assisting the gastroenterologist during endoscopic procedures. (Measured and monitored through direct observation by immediate supervisor and gastroenterologist feedback).
  • Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill in assigned area and within scope of practice.
  • Perform and assist with all tests and procedures in assigned department.
  • Administers medications safely and accurately per guidelines and written order. Ensures verification by licensed person and documentation of all medications administered including two (2) patient identifier verification. No medication errors. Prepares patient for examination or procedure.
  • Obtains complete and accurate consent for procedures/surgery.
  • Prepares and labels biopsies in a thorough and accurate manner.
  • Accurately documents patient care per protocol.
  • Partners with physician to continuously learn and expand clinical knowledge base.

Hours : Shift Start Time: Variable Shift End Time: Variable AWS Hours Requirement: 8/40 - 8 Hour Shift Additional Shift Information: Weekend Requirements: As Needed On-Call Required: No Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $26.130 - $32.670 - $36.590 The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.
