The Role Are you a curious problem-solver who loves turning complex data into compelling stories? We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Reporting & Analysis team on a 12 month Fixed Term contract with the potential to extend. If you thrive on translating business needs into high-impact technical solutions, this is your chance to drive data-led decision-making in a fast-paced, retail environment. This position is designed for an experienced professional who can navigate the intricacies of both traditional relational databases and modern cloud platforms with a keen eye for detail. Your core focus will be building complex datasets, developing self-serve BI dashboards, and tackling critical regulatory reporting, ensuring our data is robust and ready for the future of the energy sector. What You'll Do Consult with stakeholders to translate business problems into technical requirements and actionable insights. Proactively manage information requirements, ensuring a "single source of truth" and mitigating data risks. Develop high-impact reports and dashboards that improve decision-making and enhance the customer experience. Utilise your SQL expertise across our hybrid data landscape (SQL Server, Oracle, and cloud platforms) to refine our reporting logic and ensure our datasets are performant and scalable. Contribute to data governance strategies and design scalable data structures to meet evolving organisational needs. Partner with internal teams and external regulatory bodies to ensure our reporting is both innovative and compliant. Drive the end-to-end implementation of data initiatives, dashboards, and reporting frameworks. About you You are a Data Analyst with a conceptual thinking mindset. You don't just provide numbers; you provide context You are a SQL expert. Whether it's traditional relational databases or modern cloud environments, you know how to extract and manipulate data efficiently. Python experience is welcomed but not essential. An understanding of the energy/utilities sector is a major plus, but the ability to grasp commercial drivers quickly is essential. You're proficient with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker to bring data to life. You possess a relevant degree (Computer Science, Math, or Data Science) and a high degree of conceptual thinking. You are a strong communicator, able to build storing relationships with internal customers You have an interest or exposure to AI and advanced analytics in an enterprise context.
