Responsibilities

• This position sits at the intersection of public health preparedness and broader Human Services emergency readiness, giving you exposure to a wide range of planning and response functions. Core responsibilities include:
• Fulfilling deliverables under federal public health preparedness grants, including PHEP (Public Health Emergency Preparedness) and CRI (Cities Readiness Initiative)
• Developing, updating, and maintaining public health emergency plans and associated documentation
• Designing and delivering training programs and exercises for response teams and community partners
• Supporting activations and real-world emergency response efforts
• Coordinating with Healthcare Coalition partners and community-based response organizations
• Contributing to broader HHS preparedness initiatives, including emergency sheltering operations, facility safety readiness, and departmental continuity planning

Requirements

• We welcome applicants with experience or background in one or more of the following:
• Public health or community health practice
• Emergency management or homeland security
• Training and exercise development (HSEEP familiarity a plus)
• Community-based emergency response organizations (CERT, MRC, or similar)

• Minimum Training & Experience Requirements
• Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in public health, community health education, education with at least a minor in health, or a closely related field.
• OR
• Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in education, the behavioral sciences, or closely related field plus one-year work experience in planning and implementing community programs in public health.
