Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct age-appropriate English lessons for K1 and K2 children
- Support children's English literacy, phonics, pre-reading, and pre-writing development
- Create meaningful learning experiences through stories, songs, discussions, play, projects, and hands-on activities
- Support children's social, emotional, language, and cognitive development
- Manage classroom routines, transitions, behaviour, and daily learning activities
- Observe and document children's learning, development, behaviour, and progress
- Prepare lesson plans, classroom materials, learning corners, and teaching resources
- Build warm, respectful, and responsive relationships with children
- Communicate professionally with parents on children's progress and well-being when required
- Work closely with other teachers and centre staff to support curriculum delivery and classroom operations
- Maintain a safe, clean, calm, and organised classroom environment
- Follow centre policies, routines, child safety practices, and child-management guidelines
- Support school events, open house activities, or training sessions when required
Requirements
- ECDA L2 English certification is required
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education, or relevant ECDA-recognised qualification
- Prior experience teaching K1 and/or K2 children is preferred
- Comfortable supporting English literacy, phonics, pre-reading, and pre-writing development
- Able to plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons for kindergarten children
- Strong classroom management, routine management, and child observation skills
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally with children, colleagues, and parents
- Patient, calm, reliable, hands-on, and emotionally steady around young children
- Comfortable working in a full-time on-site preschool environment
- Able to work rostered shifts within the centre's operating hours
- Comfortable working in Ang Mo Kio
- Successful candidate may be required to complete relevant declarations or checks in line with centre requirements
- WORKING ARRANGEMENT
- Full-time on-site role
- Mainly Monday to Friday
- Rostered shifts within the centre's operating hours, generally between 7am and 7pm
- No regular Saturday shifts
- May be required to support school events, open house activities, or training sessions when needed
- Main deployment will be with K1 and K2 children
