About the role

The role As Operations Manager - The Sheds Specialist Spaces you will be responsible for the efficient and resilient operation of the specialist digital, creative technology facilities at The Sheds: The Studio; Cinema, Reality Emulator, XR Suite, Edit Suites, and Live Audio and Vision Galleries. You lead on resource management, kit inventory and slate scheduling across all specialist spaces. You will play a key role in growing and converting inbound enquiries, and will work closely with The Sheds senior management to inform and implement business development strategy. About The Sheds: Based close to the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, The Sheds is a unique facility for research, innovation and training in pioneering digital and creative technologies. Two primary research programmes are based there - BDFI and MyWorld. Other University teams, external companies and community partners regularly use The Sheds' specialist and co-working spaces. What will you be doing? Lead on Sheds specialist spaces scheduling, resourcing, kit inventory and pipeline management. This will include delegated budget management and reporting on space utilisation. Ensure consistent application of University policies regarding safe and efficient operation of specialist technical facilities, providing advice to colleagues across the Sheds Operations and Technical teams. Play a leading role in the scoping and management of all productions. Leverage significant industry networks to generate new business enquiries to the Sheds. Lead on a strategic and coordinated approach to talent management, team development and the staff experience across The Sheds. You should apply if We are looking for a confident and consummate professional manager of complex creative technology facilities, along with the following: Significant experience of managing complex production and/or post production facilities in a research and commercial context. Extensive industry network in the UK and internationally. Experience of managing innovative digital technology and creative industries projects Experience of managing budgets, scheduling and resource planning for complex projects and service delivery. Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to clearly communicate complex information to a variety of audiences, including external contacts and senior colleagues Demonstrable experience of developing standard operating procedures for technical facilities Experience of using scheduling and resource management software, e.g. Current RMS.
