Our Values Respect | Belonging | Accountability | Transparency Department Invasive Cardiology Job Summary: Under minimal supervision, the Invasive Cardiology Nurse Coordinator is responsible for coordination and facilitation of all aspects of safe patient care delivery for patients undergoing diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures in Invasive Cardiology Labs. Furthermore, coordinates and solves administrative problems on campus (inpatient / outpatient) within the operations of Hospital Services- including but not limited to: Patient Flow, Clinical Staffing, Regulatory Issues, Disaster Response, Employee Health, Emergency Management, Descendent Affairs, Risk Management, Safety - Security/ Help Desk / Patient Representative/ Social Services/ Nutrition Service/ Physician Relations / Human Resources and Community Health Services on a shift basis for Denver Health. The professional nurse adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of professional nursing and performance, and the ANA Code of Ethics to provide care to all healthcare consumers. Applies critical thinking, evidence-based practices, and competence to collaborate with the health care team to promote excellence in healthcare consumer safety and quality outcomes. Essential Functions : Collaborates with Invasive Cardiology and Anesthesia providers to support electrophysiology, diagnostic, and interventional cardiology procedures based upon patient acuity and condition in conjunction with staffing considerations for appropriate procedural scheduling in a timely and efficient manner aligned with daily productivity metrics. (20%) Makes decisions in collaboration with Invasive Cardiology providers and leadership to facilitate safe patient care delivery and daily operational expectations. Facilitates effective communication to ensure effective daily operations with respect to patient urgency, acuity, and staffing metrics. (30%) This position requires the individual to be flexible in their work schedule including but not limited to extended shifts and on-call per operational needs. Ability to arrive in thirty (30) minutes or less for after-hours call situations. (20%) Verifies coordination of all scheduled preventative maintenance of Invasive Cardiology equipment with Biomed and applicable vendors to minimize disruption in daily operations. Problem solves and oversees coordination of timely evaluation for any disabled/malfunctioning equipment according to hospital policy and service contracts with Invasive Cardiology Lead Certified Tech and Electrophysiology Tech Specialist. (10%) Serves as a mentor to Invasive Cardiology staff by promoting ownership and accountability for Denver Health's Core Values, professional standards, statues, regulatory requirements, hospital and departmental policies, and standards of care. (10%) Acts as an administrative liaison for all nursing and ancillary departments regarding problem solving, conflict resolution, crisis intervention and policy interpretation to ensure smooth operation of all services daily. Takes actions and follows up with appropriate hospital administrative personnel. (10%) Education : Associate's Degree required . Bachelor's Degree preferred. Work Experience : 3-5 years direct patient care in cardiac catheterization/electrophysiology lab experience required. Licenses : ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association required. BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross required. RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies required. CCRN, CV-BC, or RCIS-preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Adherence to Standards of Professional Nursing Practice/ Process / Performance regulatory requirements and the Joint Commission Standards. (Signed ANA addendum) Strong understanding of the principals of customer service as it applies to patients, staff and the community Ability to assist in identifying ways to promote quality patient centric care and maintain Denver Health's high level of patient satisfaction. Ability to work effectively in a team matrix environment. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels and in a cross functional environment.
