WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON Main challenge Your primary mission will be to turn abstract mathematical theories, probability models, and statistical data into balanced, fun gameplay systems. As a Game Mathematician Intern, you will dive into the core engine of our game economies, progression curves, and monetization systems. Under the guidance of our design team, your main challenge will be to learn how numbers dictate player behavior and ensure that our virtual economies remain stable, fair, and engaging for millions of players. What it means on a daily basis Mathematical Modeling: Assist in creating and stress-testing mathematical models for game resources, reward systems, and drop rates using Excel/Google Sheets. Probability & Balance: Calculate and simulate game probabilities (e.g., combat algorithms, gacha mechanics, luck factors) to prevent inflation in the game economy. Deconstruct Games: Play and reverse-engineer successful F2P games through a mathematical lens to map out their progression curves and balancing secrets. Data & Statistics: Help analyze real player data to identify where the math "breaks" (e.g., players progressing too fast or hitting unfair bottlenecks) and suggest adjustments. Play & Validate: Play our games a lot to verify that the theoretical math feels good and creates the right emotions in actual gameplay. Who you would be working with You will join an analytical and creative studio in Sofia. You will work side-by-side with Game Designers, Product Managers, and Data Analysts. Your mentor will be a senior specialist who will help you translate your academic math/statistical knowledge into practical game development skills in a dynamic, supportive environment. Your recruitment journey Step 1 - CV Screening (We look for strong math background, analytics, and passion for games) Step 2 - Practical Mathematical & Logic Test (Testing your Excel skills, probability logic, and problem-solving) Step 3 - Technical Interview (A deep dive into your test logic and how you approach game loops) WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED Strong educational background or active studies in Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics, Econometrics , or a highly quantitative field. Excellent understanding of Probability Theory, Combinatorics, and Statistical Analysis . Advanced logical thinking - you are someone who looks at a game and naturally starts analyzing its formulas and variables. Good skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (you know how to build formulas, handle data sets, and model simple systems). Working level of English (written and spoken). True passion for games: You want to understand the underlying math that makes Free-to-Play games work and keep players hooked.
