The incumbent serves as a Personnel Security Specialist, assisting in the administration of the agency's personnel security program and performing a wide range of adjudicative, liaison, program management, and technical duties. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience developing personnel security requirements, standards, and regulations for the USPTO personnel security program; Experience reviewing and adjudicating highly sensitive and complex reports to make recommendations for suitability and fitness of contract and agency staff; Experience providing technical assistance to applicants, contractors, and team members on matters related to NBIS and e-application process; and Experience serving as senior liaison for quality assurance of adjudicated cases. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
