Research Fellow

About the role

We are in search of a highly motivated and accomplished Research Fellow to join our team and significantly contribute to our ongoing research project "Towards Carbon-Aware Computing and Learning in Wireless Networks: Optimization, and Algorithms, and Analysis". The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our research team, working on the development of novel algorithms and methodologies for carbon-aware computing and learning. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research and have a substantial influence on the field.

Responsibilities

• Undertake research in the interdisciplinary fields of computer and wireless networks, and machine learning, with a primary focus on pioneering algorithms and optimization methodologies on carbon aware distributed computing, and carbon aware federated learning.
• Design and execute experiments to validate the proposed approaches.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in sustainable computing, wireless and communication networks, federated learning, and related fields, and integrate new findings into research projects.
• Prepare research papers for publication in prestigious conferences and journals, and prepare standardization contributions for submission to standardization bodies.
• Deliver presentations on research findings at conferences and other pertinent events.
• Who We're Looking For
• A PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with background in either optimization or machine learning.
• A strong background in optimization algorithms for networks, machine learning, or convergence theory.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB.
• Experience with relevant software libraries and frameworks, such as Pytorch.
• A solid grasp of mathematical concepts related to optimization for networks and data centers, or proving convergence of algorithms.
• A proven track record of publishing research papers in esteemed conferences or journals.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication skills and the capability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
