About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Project Leader Intern to support project coordination and execution within Quality and Manufacturing Engineering. This internship provides hands-on experience in leading and contributing to small-scale projects in a composites and wind energy environment. As an intern, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Technical Leadership to gain practical exposure to project management, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist in coordinating quality and continuous improvement projects, including helping develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables
  • Participate in and help document cross-functional sessions (e.g., FMEA, lessons learned, process improvement discussions)
  • Track project milestones, action items, and risks, and assist with status reporting to stakeholders
  • Support Quality Management System (QMS) documentation updates and control
  • Assist with tracking nonconformance reports (NCRs) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs)
  • Contribute to audit preparation and support internal/external audits (AS9100D / ISO 9001)
  • Help with data collection, analysis, and reporting using Excel, SharePoint, and Power BI
  • Collaborate with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering teams on project-related activities
  • Required qualifications
  • Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related STEM field
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with SharePoint or Power BI is a plus
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a hands-on environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Able to work on-site in the New Orleans area for the duration of the internship
