About the role

This position is located at the Naval Station Mayport, Morale, Welfare and Recreation(MWR) Department, Golf. The primary purpose of this position is to repair and maintaingolf course equipment and vehicles. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must have a complete knowledge of mechanics, be familiar with hydraulics and transmissions and be able to trouble-shoot and repair equipment and vehicles. Must have two (2) years of documented experience as a mechanic for full performance level.Must be able to plan work and follow complex repair manuals and diagnose repairsrequired. Must be able to operate a wide variety of specialized tools, both light andheavy, necessary for the maintenance and repairs (i.e., drill press, electric/acetylenewelders, engine analyzer, valve grinder, voltmeter, multimeter, reel grinder, tire changer,battery charger, etc.) You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
